Freebinar Announces Availability of VoIP Broadcasting for Free Webinar Platform
Freebinar.com announces the release of its latest feature, VoIP audio broadcasting. This new feature allows presenters to use their computer microphone or headset to deliver the audio portion of their webinars, eliminating the need for phone conferencing. Webinar attendees simply log on to the webinar through their web browsers and can hear the presenter through their computer speakers. In addition to the new VoIP audio broadcasting capabilities that have been introduced, Freebinar also offers a free conference call number to all users of the service to facilitate highly interactive, smaller online meetings.

Using customer feedback and social media to drive customer understanding, Freebinar has become the world's first and only free webinar platform, allowing presenters to host webinars with hundreds of attendees, at no cost. Advanced features like automated meeting invitations, registration management and post-webinar surveys, add further value for webinar planners.

After less than two months out of beta, Freebinar counts more than 10,000 users of the service, including business owners, professionals, educators and non-profit operators. The company is currently self-funded and actively seeking investors to fuel its growth.

Cellcrypt Launches Secure Mobile Phone Conference Calling
cellcrypt_logo.jpg Cellcrypt has launched a secure conference service that provides both device authentication and voice call encryption to participants using popular mobile phones like BlackBerry and Nokia smartphones.

Organisations depend on conference calls to run their daily operations and often discuss confidential and highly sensitive information on calls such as sales, supplier and executive management meetings, intellectual property discussions, high value business deal talks, crisis management calls or even discussions concerning disaster scenarios and national security.

But traditional conference calling services are open to abuse through unauthorised access. Where access security is in place for conference calls, it is often poorly managed with dial-in details and PINs seldom changing. A commonly reported scenario is for ex-employees to continue to access regular conference calls or pass details to unauthorised personnel.

Furthermore, as participants have become more dispersed, they often access conference calls using mobile phones, which are increasingly at risk of interception.

The Cellcrypt Secure Conference Service both authenticates the participant’s mobile phone and encrypts conversations end-to-end between each participant and the conference bridge, to ensure important conversations, from team briefings to board calls, remain confidential.

The conference calling service is easy-to-use, with participants simply selecting a bridge number from their Cellcrypt Mobile enabled Blackberry or Nokia smartphone to enter the call. Office phones can also securely participate in conference calls when connected via Cellcrypt’s Enterprise Gateway solution.

Organisations can manage conference calls using a simple web console to define all users that may access the conferencing service, create bridge numbers, define policies such as user white lists and additional access PINs. Optionally, a bridge may allow access from selected public telephones using Caller ID and PINs for authentication in geographies where the threat of interception is regarded as controlled (the call segments from public telephones are not encrypted).

The service builds on Cellcrypt’s existing solutions that provide encrypted voice calls on mobile phones, such as BlackBerry and Nokia smartphones, delivering government-grade security in an easy-to-use application that makes highly secure calling as easy as making a normal phone call. Utilising the IP data channel it supports all major wireless networks, Wi-Fi® and satellite. Encryption is government-grade and certified to FIPS 140-2 standard by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.

InnoMedia and Clearcable Team Up to Promote SIP Trunking/Hosted VoIP Products With Smart-DQoS in Canada
InnoMedia has reached an agreement with Clearcable Networks to distribute InnoMedia ESBC products. This distribution agreement will allow Clearcable to deliver products anywhere in Canada. Clearcable is strategically located in Ontario and, with its focus on mid-market MSOs, it will be able to facilitate the adoption of Smart-DQoS technology as the premier solution to voice system bandwidth prioritization using InnoMedia's ESBC 8528-4B. The InnoMedia ESBC with Smart-DQoS is based on InnoMedia's exclusive Device-initiated DQoS technology.

The InnoMedia ESBC 8528-4B is an ideal demarcation solution for Cable Operators to deliver SIP Trunking and hosted voice telephony as well as broadband Internet service to enterprise customers. Located at the network edge, the ESBC 8528-4B enables NAT and firewall traversal, permitting VoIP traffic to enter the network while preventing unauthorized access. The ESBC 8528-4B supports SIP normalization and ensures interoperability with enterprise customer equipment, such as an IP-PBX or IP Phones. The ESBC, with an embedded cable modem, can support end-to-end QoS to allow MSOs to deliver uncompromised call quality for the first time. With Smart-DQoS technology, InnoMedia's ESBC 8528-4B establishes UGS service flows without requiring network Policy Servers, thus greatly simplifying network setup considerations for MSOs. Since its introduction earlier this year, this product has been acknowledged to dramatically improve voice quality for both hosted and on-premise VoIP services provided by MSOs.
